Herbert

I can't stop listening to HERBERT'S newest album, Scale.

Matthew Herbert used over 700 items (musical and otherwise) to create his genius new record, Scale, including "coffins, petrol pumps, meteorites, an RAF Tornado Bomber, and somebody being sick outside a banquet for a notorious London arms fair." All that might sound extraneous and downright gimmicky in the hands of a lesser producer, but Herbert masterfully employs all these elements to create warm, intelligent, and often politically-charged dance music. Oh, and getting the lovely Dani Siciliano to contribute vocals doesn't hurt.

Alright i'm being very carefull here, not to link to a myspace page ;)
On this track, Herbert busts out drums recorded in a hot-air balloon.

Just call me Miss House

I even HAVE to watch the reruns.
That's what TV is all about
Is it just me who signs along with the Massive Attack remix at the begining of the show?
That, and Rockstar Supernova, alright, I just killed it. You all thought that I was a smart one. Naa ;)
One Canadian left. One hot look. One Word, Lukas.

Little Miss Sunshine

Just got my hands on the Little Miss Sunshine Soundtrack. Wich features music by DeVotchKa Check them out they're amazing! And of course the soundtrack includes 2 songs by my favorite, Sufjan Steven.
I hope the movie will be as good as the music in it. But juging by the trailer, it looks very promising.
Oh and if you enjoy free movie passes, Go to the official website and click on Free Screenings at the bottom of the page.

Back From ReHab

1 week without internet connection is way too long ;)
But I had my DS with me, I wasn't all deprived of technologie.

Note to self:
when you fall asleep outside on a really sunny and hot day, make sure there's someone there to wake you up!

If you can't stand the heat...

I can't even think straight, the heat is getting to me.
don't want to set a foot outside, i'm pretty sure i'm gonna melt before I can get to the street corner.

So, with a minthy, lemony and iced cold water, a good book, some really great music, and a fan blowing, i'm trying to make the best of it.

Some great new music to help you guys out.

The new project of the talented and sexy Mike Patton, after Faith No More and Fantômas (just to name a few) is called Peeping Tom and came out at the end of May, but I just got my hands on it. For his new album he asked for some really cool contributors such as Massive Attack, Norah Jones (listen to the song SUCKER it's worth it), Amon Tobin and many more.

And one of my favorite find is a band from Sacramento, California called The evening episode, they have a very cool and refreshing sound.

Life's great

i'm in vacations for two whole weeks!
And tonight i'm going to see A scanner Darkly, hope I will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed Waking life back in 2001.
I came home last night and watched for the fifth time, Oldboy, Man I looove that movie!!
the uncut fight scene's incredible.
Next on my list is A tale of two sisters.
Asian movies rocks! (alright I sound like a bubbly teenager now).
Did I mention that life is good to me right now?, i'm in a good mood, and plus, Clerks II is coming out on the 21st, that makes me happy.

A Scanner Darkly

I have tickets for A scanner darkly' premiere tomorrow night. woohoo
I've been waiting for this movie for a long time. I haven't read the novel by Philip K. Dick and it's a good thing cause i'm always disappointed by books adaptations. I hope I won't be this time.

******

It's always the same thing with me, I trust people too damn much, until they turn around and backfire on me. And even then, I give them a second chance. I think people are fundamentally good, maybe I should change the way I perceive people from now on.
I told a good friend of mine to get lost today. I wanted to do it for quite some time now but I told myself, each time he disapointed me, that he would come around. Again, the people-are-fundamentally-good-until-they-prove-me-wrong-crap. I finally opened my eyes and established that friendship is too damn important to be wasted on somebody that doesn't give a shit, friendship needs to be nourrished and cultivated for it to grow. Well, I showed him the back door, until he comes around, once more..maybe.. but this time i'm really not sure I can forgive him or take him back as a friend, he disapointed me for the last time.
