You better Clean Those Ears

An iPod can now hold over 15,000 songs and yet the music still gets old. No matter how much music you have there is always room for more. If you're anything like me, you always want more new music or new bands to listen to. Fortunately for the musically un-savvy The Music Genome Project has developed a nifty tool called Pandora.

Pandora is a unique web application with an impressive database of music and attempts to introduce you to music you may like. You are able to listen to entire songs with good stereo quality and even rate songs you do and don’t like, to help the application better understand your taste in music. There are no commercials and no commentary, the only catch is… no rewind (it is free).

Out of Dreams

As If Arctic Monkeys' frontman Alex Turner hasn't been busy enough in the past year, he decided to start another band. The Rascals, will be making their live debut next month in Liverpool. Turner has not only been working on material for his new band, but he's also busy writing songs for the highly anticipate Arctic Monkeys' sophomore album.

Children of Men

What's more amazing than sitting in a dark theater, in good company, waiting for the movie to start while watching the trailer of a movie that you had no idea of it's existence?
Children of Men totally caught me of guard, left me with goosebumps and a Hell Yeah!
Set in 2027 where no human child has been born for 18 years and science is at a loss to explain why, Children of Men envisions a world that has fallen into chaos as humankind faces the threat of its own extinction.

Azumanga Daioh

I was talking with a friend earlier about this Japanese animation.
Sorry for the Spanich subtitles, it was the only video I could find showing Osaka finally being able to separate chopsticks perfectly.
Art that I still don't master. :$

Clap Hands!

I'm so glad I stayed up for that SNL re-run.
The guy's a genius.

What Tarot Card Are You?

You are The Star

Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Star is one of the great cards of faith, dreams realised

The Star is a card that looks to the future. It does not predict any immediate or powerful change, but it does predict hope and healing. This card suggests clarity of vision, spiritual insight. And, most importantly, that unexpected help will be coming, with water to quench your thirst, with a guiding light to the future. They might say you're a dreamer, but you're not the only one.

I want you to come along for the ride

Cat Power (Chan Marshall) has been, for over a decade now, haunting independent music with her puzzling and enigmatic sound.

"The Greatest", is Cat Power’s latest full-length accomplishment that came out earlier this year, a volume of thoughtful, heartfelt poetry, sung in the warm, rich and soothing tones of Marshall. At times bluesy, at times jazzy, at times rocky and at most times funky, the album has a very Southern, soul feel to it. "The Greatest" is her most mellow album yet but is wonderfully refreshing.

Here's my favorite song of the album, Love and Communication.

Everybodys Gotta Learn Sometimes

Originally Performed by The Korgis in the 80's
But Beck's version is just superb.

'Kramer' Loses it

and Launches Into Racist Rant
Michael Richards, aka "Kramer" from "Seinfeld," totally loses it. He gets into a confrontartion with a heckler and spits out a bunch of racist slurs at The Laugh Factory in West Hollywood over the weekend.

If I Could Dream All Day

Songs for the weekend.

Wolf Parade...Ahh WP, I can't get enough of this Montreal based band. Apologies to the Queen Mary is one of the best album that got out in 2005. It's an absolute work of art.

Shine a Light

Sufjan Stevens, if you read my blog regulary, you already know my love affair with Mister Stevens. He's a pure genius. I recommend, the album Illinois that came out in 2005. Stevens is simply one of the most talented artists creating music right now, period.

Lost in the IF's

Hello, it's me again
Impulse from another dimension
Another state of mind
Leaping around the words and transiting goodnights
Re-inventing ways to make you smile
A blush that I can't picture
An empty room for the single minded
An empty screen for the broken hearted
Only words on a blank canvas
Blinking emotions,
Printed laughs and lost connections

10,000 reasons civilization is doomed

Blame it on Glow-in-the-dark pigs, Suicide bombers, George W Bush, Oprah Winfrey or People who stop suddenly in the middle of the sidewalk. But there’s something reassuring about the website 10,000 Reasons Civilization is Doomed Dooooomed!. Sometimes it's good to get things off your chest. I personally think it's Paris Hilton's fault.

Here It Goes Again

I've seen this video a couple of times before and it's in my opinion the best video that I've seen in a while. I can't even let go of the handles when I jog on the threadmill :|

Never be alone

In winter, there’s nothing quite like curling up on the couch for a bit of a cuddle. La Tete Au Cube’s Buddy Throw (available through Charles & Marie) pulls a smooth move every time you sit on your sofa.
Alright, call me compulsive shopper. but I want one!

Can You Hear it coming?

Thomas Meluch, best known by his pseudonym Benoît Pioulard, remember that name. DO IT!
He's a Michigan kid, only 22 years old. But his sound is surprisingly mature. I like the ghostly layers that he's bringing to the melodies. Did I mention that he's a great photographer too?

Song of the Day

Set The Fire To The Third Bar
Snow Patrol and Martha Wainwright.

Couldn't find an MP3 of the song, but I suggest that you watch the video with your eyes closed. Still, it's an hauntingly beautiful song.

You can't stop progress

Amazing band from Montreal The Camaromance.
The song 28 balloons is just amazing, i've been listening to it on repeat for the past 3 hours.
